A Single-Night Affair At Golden Peak Hotel

Another highlight of my Sinulog 2012 weekend was the fact that I did not have to go home, which is an hour or so away from the city without traffic, after all the festivities. My friends and I got ourselves booked in one of the most accessible and acclaimed names in the local hospitality industry. Golden Peak Hotel & Suites which is strategically located in the corner of Escario St. and Gorordo Avenue, proves to be one of the ideal places to be when in the city. It is accessible from and to all points within the metro. More so, it takes only a couple of minutes, whether by car or foot, to get to the major shopping centers such as Ayala Center and SM City Cebu.
It was a good thing that we were able to book our accommodation weeks earlier before Sinulog 2012. When my parents made a last-minute decision to book a room for Sunday night, the hotel was fully booked already. They had to go home instead, which is not really that bad since they did not have to report to work the next day like I did.

The hotel's lobby is large, which is definitely a plus and something businessmen are sure to appreciate. The Front Desk was big enough to accommodate multiple guests at a given time. The personnel were attentive and helpful. The entire ambiance was even festive and relevant to the ongoing Sinulog 2012 celebration.

On the way to the room, I had to take the elevator since ours was on the 11th floor. The lift was quite huge, which eliminated the claustrophobic tendencies in me. The hallway was well-lit and offered a great view of some parts of the city. One thing the hotel can improve on though is their soundproofing system. While walking to our room, I could hear the TVs from a room or two. It was not too loud though, except in cases probably when all the rooms have their TV sets turned on.

Here is our room, which is originally good for two people only. We paid for two additional persons, so there were four of us comfortably snuggled in the room that night.

All in all, our overnight affair with Golden Peak Hotel & Suites was definitely worth it. The staff was also very helpful and accommodating such as when we had problems with the key and we inquired about the free breakfast options available for stay-in guests.

One great thing about Golden Peak Hotel & Suites is how polite and good-mannered their staff was. It is definitely a positive point to add to the many great qualities of the hotel. Helpful Staff + Affordable rates + Clean & Comfortable make the hotel the ideal option for everyone. People should, however, take note that the hotel is designed to cater to businesspeople who are in the city for official matters. It is not a luxurious hotel. Otherwise, it would cost a leg to spend a night at this hotel.

Considering the comfort and cost involved during our Sinulog 2012 stay at the hotel, it would make perfect sense for Sinulog to find us in the same location next year.

To rate my stay at Golden Peak Hotel & Suites
Billed: Around 600 bucks for a quad-sharing room (which I shared with my girlfriends)
Service: The hotel staff was very pleasant. They attended to my needs such as when I had problems with the room's key. They immediately sent someone over with an extra key.
Ambiance: The entire hotel oozes with a formality and elegance that suits businessmen well. It is clean and neat enough to house business-oriented individuals
