A Simple Christmas Dinner @ Simply J's

In tradition of the gang's yearly Christmas dinners since we got to know each other (which is more or less 10 years ago), we had our Christmas 2011 dinner at a quaint place called Simply J's.

Located at #10 Apitong Corner, Escario St., Kamputhaw, two corners away from Parklane Hotel toward Escario St, this restaurant offered the perfect ambiance for me and my friends on a cold weekday early evening. The place made us all feel warm, cozy and definitely up for some bonding time. It was definitely perfect for our Christmas dinner that night.

View from outside (Perfect!)

Me, Mr Kyme and Biaj, one of my closest girlfriends, were the first ones to arrive. It was a good thing that we made reservations the previous day because the place was fully occupied. It can housed 30 people (more or less). There were more than 10 people who came in to dine but were denied because the place was fully booked for the night.

We had the fish sticks, which I forgot to take a picture of due to hunger. It was really good. Although Mr Kyme did not like the sauce, I adored it. I am not very sure, but it tasted like a lighter variation of the local patis & suka sawsawan (my favorite for fried fish and the likes).

Once our friends started arriving, we took turns with the menu and had the following gastric delights.
 Lasagna (Very Generous Serving)

Penni (Forgot the exact dish name)

Pork Chop (Unique)

Tuna Pesto (Forgot the exact dish name)

They serve tea in this (Lovely)

Everyone was definitely satisfied with their orders. It was even quite shameful coz the gang got quite rowdy after dinner when we had our exchanging of gifts. Good thing we did not get reprimanded by anyone from Simply J's. The oldies from the next table were having fun watching us though.

We would have wanted to get some desserts, but they were already about to close. So we decided to go for some coffee instead.

To rate Simply J's,
Billed: P400 (more or less) for me and Mr Kyme (Definitely worth it!)
Service: Very nice. Friendly, accommodating and helpful. (They let me borrow their stapler so I could wrap my gifts. Thumbs up!)
Ambiance: PERFECT for the holidays! Great for romantic nights as well :)
Food Serving: Generous! Yummy, too.

PS. Sorry Simply J's for eradicating the homey and cozy feel for a couple of hours that night. Will be back soon!:)

  2. Hey Justinne!

I paid P400+ for two dishes, two drinks and half of our appetizer. It was for the cordon bleu, tuna pesto, strawberry shake, calamansi juice and half of the fish sticks. Really worth it!
